| Volunteer request will be accepted Monday August 15th. For volunteering your time to work at least one two-hour shift, you will be able to shop our "Volunteers Only Pre-Sale" on Friday, September 17th from 6pm - 9pm. Volunteer sign ups are accommodated by e-mail (contact information below).
*Note that volunteers for these shifts will not have time to shop the half-price sale. Job Descriptions: Drop Off Sorting: Accepting, sorting, and classifying incoming vendor items by size and type. Volunteers should expect to carry loads of clothes, large toys, and accessories. Please wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Card Sorter: This is a sitting job sorting vendor cards according to their code. Depinner: Volunteer depins vendor tags from items during the checkout process. Cahsier: SUMC members only. Responsible for the totaling of vendor cards in the checkout process. Room Monitor: Volunteer responsible for a designated area to assist with hold items, straighten tables, and assist shoppers with questions as needed. Haulers: Responsible for the carrying of hold items from the sales floor to the hold area. Lifting is required and tennis shoes are a must. Clothing Sorter: Volunteer is responsible for the sorting of clothing and items. Those before half-price help organize clothing for the sale, while those post-sale help put together the returns. Returns: Responsible for the transfer of return items to owners. Heavy Lifting: Post sale take down of racks and tables and assisting with putting these in storage.
